The challenge
MOL Move serves drivers in eight countries from one app. New services — motorway e-vignettes, street parking, club webshops — have to plug into loyalty, payment and partner systems without turning the app or its gateway into a monolith.
What we built
Gergely was MOL’s mobile architect from 2020 to 2024 and has been mobile solution architect at MOL Digital Factory since 2024. He is responsible for the design of the Android and iOS apps, the Spring Boot application gateway and the microservices behind them, and leads end-to-end design wherever mobile is the largest part. The latest milestone is motorway e-vignette purchase and street parking built on a new microservice core: a parking-session service with payment pre-authorisation and capture, product synchronisation for parking zones, MongoDB data services and a scheduler that stops sessions automatically.
